About Me
My name is Sian. I am a qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). My way of working is Person-Centred and Trauma-Informed. I am also trained in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt, which means that I can tailor my approach to suit your needs. No two people are the same, and I adapt my methods to each Individual.

What I can help with
Anxiety, life transitions or life crises, recent or historical trauma, lack of confidence or self-esteem,  issues with personal or work relationships, loneliness.
Who I work with
I work with adults of any age, and I see clients of any gender, race, religion, culture or sexual orientation.
On a personal level
I work with warmth, acceptance, and sensitivity to support you in facing life's challenges. When we work together, I'll be myself: an equal, not a blank screen or someone "sorted", but someone who will have your best interests at heart.

Alongside my professional life, I am a partner, a parent, and someone who grew up with challenges of my own. I understand how early experiences can shape the way we see ourselves and relate to others, and I know how painful it can be to feel unseen and unheard. My own experience of therapy has been life-changing. It's helped me navigate difficult times, make sense of past experiences, and feel more at ease in my own skin. I am deeply committed to continuing my personal growth and professional development, so that I can bring thoughtful, supportive and ethical practice to the people I work with. My personal journey is part of what drives my dedication to this work. It underpins a key part of how I listen, connect, and respond to clients with care and understanding.

As a counsellor, I have worked with individuals facing anxiety, trauma, life transitions, grief, and low self-worth. In addition to my private practice, I also do freelance work for a charity supporting survivors of sexual abuse. This work continues to deepen my understanding of how to offer support with care, sensitivity, and compassion for each person's unique experience.

Before becoming a counsellor, I had a varied career working across the NHS, academia, and both the public and corporate sectors. This breadth of experience gives me a grounded understanding of the different pressures people face in both their personal and professional lives.

Outside of work, I love walking - sometimes alone, usually with my dog, sometimes with family or friends. The natural world is a constant source of calm for me. I am a keen gardener. I have always loved learning and have been known to sign up for classes in anything from French to pottery. I try (with mixed success) to exercise for fitness.
